My latest painting is an 8 x 10 inch acrylic on stretched canvas.

I used Liquitex acrylic paints for this one. Still my favorite brand for acrylic paints!

Edge (5 x 7 inches; watercolor)

I like how Sterling Edwards and Tony Couch paint. They are both transparent watercolor artists and have put out several books and videos on how to paint with watercolor. Their paintings are very colorful, and the painting techniques they use create paintings that do not look overworked. The brushwork is loose and the paintings have a glow to them.

I am practicing some new techniques to loosen up my paintings a la Sterling Edwards and Tony Couch. I’m not real happy with the rocks, but it is practice after all!  The watercolor techniques Sterling Edwards and Tony Couch use are simple, but timing is critical. I find myself forgetting certain steps of the process and that does affect the final outcome. Overall, I am pleased with the final results of this practice painting!

Aspen Way Gif

I put together this gif to show the steps of how Aspen Way came together. This painting was donated to a local mental health support group where it was sold at auction.  The original watercolor painting measures 12 x 16 inches.

Miniature Painting – An Early Snow

An Early Snow (2.5 x 3.5 inches; watercolor)

This ACEO art card watercolor painting sold shortly after I listed it at my Etsy Shop.   I am pleased to announce that I will be giving a print of this painting to one of the best supporters of my artwork.  It’s my way of thanking her for all of the encouragement and support she has given me. I also know she really liked this one, and I hope she will be pleased with the print!
